Technology and Engineering Teacher

I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Stout with a B.S. in Technology Education, and I have been teaching at Wrightstown High School since fall 2010. I have pursued professional growth through National Science Foundation and NSA-funded experiences, and I have developed original educational products for the classroom. I increased the Technology and Engineering offerings by writing and implementing nine new courses, allowing students to transcribe over sixteen credits and two certificates with the local technical college.

My classroom runs on hands-on, iterative work: designing, making, experimenting, and troubleshooting. That mix is meant to spark interest in STEAM fields while exercising the critical thinking and problem-solving that real work requires. Students take responsibility for their own projects, and I keep pushing them to advocate for themselves while they do it.

Key projects ask students to apply what they are learning to practical problems that benefit others. Where I can, I aim that work at something real: transcribed technical college credit, industry certificates, tours of local shops, and support for youth apprenticeship, so students already have a head start on college, credentials, and work before they graduate.
